Thanks Stefan. Much appreciated. Me and my camera find these slightly edgy neighbourhoods more interesting than the tourist traps.

Great essay and photos, Ben. I definitely agree with "anarchy in photography", not sure about life.

But thanks for the link to the terrific conversation with Cartier-Bresson (Charlie Rose).

Cheers, Alex. Glad you enjoyed it. Anarchy has more going for it than I thought. But it's probably not for everyone. 🙂

The Exarchia mentioned in the article reminded me of the Occupy Gezi we experienced in Turkey. Everything was free in Gezi, which was the embodiment of anarchism, which was portrayed as a fearful term. Everyone was helping each other. People stayed in tents on the street, and homeless people came to this area and lived with them. They had their fill. And of course the murals.. there were so many of them. It took a month. Then the cops ruined everything. The anarchic child within a person can cost a lot. I know from myself.

Occupy Gezi sounds interesting. And very similar to the kind of solidarity I found in Exarchia by the sounds of it. I shall look it up. Yes. I am more of anarchist than I realised before writing this article. 🙂
